It was high school history class that brought Cody Burke and Jessica Scobee together. “I asked Cody for a piece of gum one day, and that’s how it kind of got started,” Jessica says. Later that school year, the two were without dates to their junior prom. “Cody was too shy to ask me to prom, so I of course asked him,” Jessica says. “From there, we started dating.”

Seven years later, Cody popped the question while they were celebrating Fourth of July. “Once I said yes, fireworks went off, and we embraced and cried in excitement,” she says. After the proposal, the lead singer of the band they were listening to called the couple onstage, proclaimed their news to the crowd and performed a song in their honor.

Cody and Jessica married 11 months later in Walnut Shade’s light-filled Stonegate Glass Chapel. “I have always dreamed of being married in greenery with our friends and family, and Stonegate gave it the perfect touch,” she said.

Held at Pointe Royale in Branson, the reception was a lively affair filled with fun and celebration. “I love to dance, so I made sure that my friends and I danced until the music stopped,” Jessica says. “You want to make everyone's trip worth it—along with memories you'll keep with you forever.”

After getting ready, Jessica read letters written by Cody and her mom.

Unique touches like flower-filled birdcages dotted the chapel.

Stonegate Glass Chapel features plenty of natural lighting and lovely views of the spectacular surroundings.

In a touching moment, Jessica and Cody lit a unity candle to symbolize their new union.

Jessica selected a ruffled, dramatic gown from Touch of Class. Bridesmaids Lauran, Heather, Samantha, Bailey, Caitlin and Natalie wore soft, neutral dresses of their choosing.

It was important to Jessica that Cody was involved in planning their big day. “Just remember, your soon-to-be hubby has also been looking forward to the day he gets married,” she says.

Tall, eye-catching centerpieces added striking pops of color throughout the reception space.

The cake had four layers, each with different scrumptious, fruity flavors. Guests indulged in an array of other desserts like brownies, lemon bars and cookies.

Jessica and Cody chose Michael Buble’s “Close Your Eyes” for their first dance. Afterward, Christie Gangwes of COMPLETE weddings + events spun a mixture of tunes, and the Burkes danced the night away with friends and family.
